The New Jersey Private Well and Home Testing Act - NJPWTA
Effective 2002, the New Jersey Private Well and Home Testing Act (NJPWTA), required that raw, untreated potable well water be tested for specific parameters as a condition for each sale of real property. Then landlords where required to comply by 2004 with documents to the lessor and lessee. That testing must be repeated every five years thereafter.
- The laboratory results must be made available and documents made available by both the buyer and seller. Our contracted Certified Lab can send a copy to each real estate broker if you wish.
- GPS Global Position Sighting of your facility
- The sample must be collected by designated personnel of a New Jersey DEP Certified Lab.
- The pH test must be completed on site by the certified labs personnel.
- Results are submitted to the NJDEP electronically.
- The untreated raw water must be sampled and tested for specific parameters. Most labs have additional charges for the re-test if you fail, and for the added test after your water treatment unit, and for the added county required tests. Our lab doesn’t add any charges for these tests after quoting you for a complete procedure.
